Employee Bios
Warren A. Husk is an FAA licensed Single Engine Land Airplane Instrument
Flight Instructor, an FAA licensed Airframe and Powerplant aircraft maintenance
technician with Inspection Authorization privileges, a Kent State University
alumni with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation, and currently employed as
the General Manager of Akron Flight Inc. at the Akron Fulton International
Airport. Akron Flight Inc. is a full service fixed base operation that provides
aviation fuel and ancillary services to local and nationally based corporate
and private aircraft.
Born in August 1971, Warren was raised in Akron, Ohio and has been interested
in aviation since the age of five. Graduating high school in 1989, Warren
moved to Orlando, Florida in 1990.
Hired by Aircraft Service International to load luggage for United Airlines
in February 1991, Warren was promoted to crew lead in the fall of 1991.
Warren transferred to the fueling department in 1993, eventually becoming
an aircraft fueling supervisor at the Orlando International Airport in 1993.
Responsible for the fueling operations of more than 200 commercial flights,
Warren held this position for two years before relocating back to Akron,
Ohio.
After moving back to Akron in 1995, Warren began working as a general aviation
line service technician for McKinley Air Transport where he was responsible
for the fueling operation of private, corporate and commercial aircraft
at the Akron Canton Regional Airport. While working full time, Warren began
taking college classes at Kent State University in August 1995, and working
towards his private pilot’s license, ultimately attaining his pilot’s license
in 1997. In November 1998, Warren accepted a position as an apprenticing
aviation maintenance technician for Castle Aviation at the Akron Canton
Regional Airport.
In November 2000, Warren accepted his current position as the General Manager
of Akron Flight Inc at the Akron Fulton International Airport. Warren is
responsible for the FBO’s daily aviation operation, in addition to the supervision
of several corporate and business tenants. He and his staff refuel private,
corporate, and military aircraft, provide pilot and passenger rental cars,
catering, hotel reservations, aircraft cleaning, and various other aeronautical
services. In addition, Akron Flight offers aircraft maintenance, flight
training, and avionics installation and repair through the cooperative efforts
of their business tenants.
Earning his Bachelor’s of Science in Aviation in 2004, Warren also received
an FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanic’s license, and his FAA Certified
Flight Instructor license 2004. In October 2007, he received his FAA Certified
Instrument Flight Instructor license, and in December 2007 completed training
for the aircraft maintenance Inspection Authorization privileges.
Warren is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA),
East Central Ohio Pilots Association (ECOPA), 2006-2008 President of the
Akron Fulton Airport Advisory and Security Committee, and a member of the
Akron Fulton Airport Airshow planning committee from 2001-2008.
Warren is married and has two daughters.
